Homo Ludens, Homo Lascivus.
Homo Ludens, Homo Lascivus.

At university, I came across Homo Ludens by Huizinga, which argues that play is central to who we are. We are Homo Sapiens, Homo Faber, and we are Homo Ludens.

When younger, we play games: enjoy the freedom to make rules with our friends, stick with them, and rewrite them as we please. Homo Ludens argues that this ability eventually builds rituals, communal habits, institutions, society, and evolve them over time. Play isn't just a distraction; it's our muscle for creating and disrupting the status quo. We can't afford to let it atrophy.

That is exactly what happens through our sessions. We play a game other than our ordinary lives, choose our own rules, stick to them and rewrite them for a new game. Secretly, ours is a space for an intimate revolution. Sex isn't political because it stands left or right, it is what trains our ability to challenge rules.
