Zipties, chains, and a gag. I bullied them into the floor, methodically stripping their autonomy through paced movements and the strength of my legs. I broke their resistance, restrained them, and then simply withdrew. I cinched the chain to the pipe in the wall, turned the key, and left them to listen to the fading sound of my footsteps.
To be locked away is to be caught between solitude and expectation. They try to predict what comes next using only the sound of my steps, or nothing at all; forgotten. They lie there, kidnapped by an oath we took together, discovering the relief that comes when the World finally stops asking them to be anything at all.
A secret more than a person now, locked in my room.
