BDSM and Sympathy

I'll share a reflection after last week sessions.
Some men come to me after decades of waiting, hesitant, hopeful, carrying years of curiosity, bad experiences, and the knowledge that they could lose everything. Work, family, friends…
Despite the cliché, nobody really wants true, uncaring darkness. The cold authority, the cruel scenarios, those are just the theatre of BDSM. This is a play, after all. It can’t be done without an enormous -sometimes completely draining- effort of empathy.
Some shake from the overwhelming emotion of finally being here. Once I used a squeeky toy on someone to show how silly we could be if we just wanted. Some cry. Their incredible deeply touching gratitude feels unmatched to me by anything I’ve ever encountered outside of this.
And then butt stuff. Of course. Yay!
