The whip strips away the idea that you are fragile. It leaves you standing in the truth of your own endurance, and that changes something.
There is a fine line between trust and fear, and I tiptoe on it. Without trust, you can’t focus. Without fear, we couldn’t reveal your strength.
I know sometimes you wonder, “Is he crazy? Does he realize the pain he’s inflicting?” I do. I balance sadism and empathy, accuracy and brutality. I look for what you suspect could break you, then wait for you to overcome it. Mistress Vivienne taught me.
That’s why it’s addictive. That’s why you come back. Not because it hurts, but because it shows you something about yourself that you might have forgotten.
